Lawrence Kirby shared a message titled, 'What does Christ in Us Actually Mean?' Colossians 1:25 NLT 25 God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you. 26 This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. 27 For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory. 28 So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. 29 That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me. The secret of the Good News is Christ in You! But what does that actually mean? Consider the question: What does 'Christ in You' mean to you? While this is a simple phrase, it's a profound idea. Sometimes if we become too familiar with these types of phrases, we can forget the depth of it. It can be easy to say but difficult to put into action in a way that transforms our lives. Christ living in us means something has to die. In Romans, Paul talks about a war that happens if we have two things living inside of us. Christ living in us means our selves have to die and surrender to Christ's will. Galatians 2:20-21 NLT 20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die. Competing ideas remove our peace and incite confusion. The choice to follow Jesus means letting Him live in you and through you. This will show in the way we interact with the world and the people around us. With Christ in us, we can be alone but do not have to partner with loneliness. The nature of God Himself is in us! This means that our struggles do not have to overcome us! We have His strength, courage, and access to the divine nature. We have ability to face what life brings us today, tomorrow, and into eternity. There is a constant invitation into increased maturity and depth in our relationship with God. Christ's mighty power is available to us - He is in us! If you believe that Christ is in you, consider the question of how does that change how we interact with people, with God and the world around us? Christ in us leaves us with responsibilities of what we're going to do with that. --- You can watch the full message below:
