Jordan Smith shared a message titled, 'Jesus Appears to ALL of Us' Every Sunday is important but Easter Sunday is focused on the centre of our faith. What was the darkness of the tomb became the light of Christ! Our message is that in death there is life! As we push into the challenges and pressures of life, things can turn around. The thing we need in our life is Christ appearing. Your life has to do the talking. > Christ appears to the diligentKeep doing the next right thing When you don’t know what to do you just have to be obedient Thomas said unless he experienced the reality he wouldn’t believe Blessed are those who believe without seeing him > Christ appears to the doubtingThe thing about Thomas is not that he doubted but that he was courageous enough to be honest about where he was at 100% of us are doubters but Jesus still appears to us Faith (stirring belief, feelings) VS Faithfulness (believing in the way we live) Faithfulness = steps we take on the bridge that is grace Even belief is a gift of God to us > Christ appears to the denierRepentance rewinds denial Take the opportunities Jesus gives us to unwind the sin in our life Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords over ALL Wherever you fit socially, Christ can be real for you --- You can watch the full message below:

Philippa Kirby shared a message titled, 'Why We Celebrate Easter' In a lot of ways we have prettied or nice-ified Easter because the reality of it is really quite uncomfortable! Easter is not just the fun little bits of chocolate eggs and hot cross buns... There is the whole depth of what it represents for us as Christ followers. The Easter story began even before creation. That's a big thought! Ephesians 1:4 'Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.' Before He made the world, God had grace for us - He loved us! He had a plan for our redemption. There is hope for now and for the future. John 1:1-5, 10-16 NLT In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognise him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. John testified about him when he shouted to the crowds, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me. From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another."' John 1:16 TPT 'From the overflow of His fullness we received grace heaped upon more grace!' John 1:17-18 NLT 'For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.' John 1:18b TPT 'Now that he has come to us, he has unfolded the full explanation of who God truly is!' God had a plan before the world was created. When the time came, He sent His Son to outwork that plan and reveal Himself to us. Ephesians 1:3-5 'All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.' It gave God great pleasure to outwork the plan of sending Jesus. This was not a back up plan or an after thought - God knew whilst He was creating, from the very beginning, how things would play out. Jesus chose death for the sake of our lives - because of His great love for us. It gives parents great pleasure to see their children happy, content, and blessed. It gives God great pleasure to see us living in wholeness and joy! He KNEW He CREATED He ENTERED He SHOWED He OVERCAME The light is in me - darkness can never be hostile toward me. Christ made His home among us, and asks us to make ourselves at home within Him. John 1:12 NLT 'But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.' John 1:12 TPT 'But those who embraced him and took hold of his name he gave authority to become the children of God!' We are the Bride of Christ (we take His name), yet we are also Children of God. Genesis 12:1-2 NLT 'The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.' Leave Go I will show I will bless You will be a blessing Yahweh revealed His love and kindness to Abraham in a way that he could understand. God draws us by His kindness. Jesus revealed to us that He had a better way! Just like Abraham had a son born miraculously who started a new nation, God had a Son born into humanity by miraculous means and He started a new Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven. This is the celebration of Easter - Jesus brought and bought a new Kingdom! Jesus was the revelation of God's character. John 1:17 TPT 'Jesus, the Anointed One, unveils truth wrapped in tender mercy.' Perhaps as you unwrap an Easter egg this Easter - you can reflect on the unveiled Truth that Jesus brought to us. It is finished! Nothing has been left undone - hallelujah! --- You can watch the full message below: Lawrence Kirby shared about the Vision of Kāpiti Impact Church This vision is captured in the follow statements... 'A vibrant Church of influence and impact for Christ in Kāpiti and the world beyond.' 'Encouraging, equipping and empowering people for LiFE' This is a picture of what we could be. It's about Christ, vibrancy, community, life. Every person needs courage and encouragement is literally to put courage into someone! We are all called to encourage each other. Championing each other to be all God's called us to be. This is a call for all of us - not just for a few leaders. Equipping is about getting the right tools for the right job. If we try to do something with the wrong tools we make a mess of it! Empowerment comes to us by the Holy Spirit. No matter who you are - you can have Holy Spirit power! You need this to do what God's called you to do. We need to give people permission to step out in the power of God in their lives. Supernatural power! There's only so far we can go in our own strength, but by the power of God's Spirit we can see the Kingdom manifest. We use LiFE as an acronym for Living in Freedom Everyday. Fullness of life is strongly connected with freedom. The only was transformation takes place is through relationship - with God and with other people. God wants us to work through the conflict, the hurt, the offence that comes when we're in relationship with others and with Him. Many challenges come to us because we don't necessarily do conflict well. Sometimes people hurt you intentionally or unintentionally and in those times we need Holy Spirit empowerment to forgive, because God first forgave us. To love, because God first loved us. Galatians 4:19 My little children, for whom I am again in [the pains of] labor until Christ is [completely and permanently] formed within you-- Ephesians 4:13-16 'This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.' Relationship and love is all through this. Growth happens together as family. Sometimes people "Speak the truth in love"... And really all they're doing is being offensive - giving their opinion and covering it with a religious mantra. Sometimes even with good intentions, how we communicate can be really unhelpful by pushing people down rather than build them up. As Christians we are all anointed. If we don't see others through the lens of them being an anointed one, we can lean toward judging them and saying in our hearts, 'What I carry is more important than what you carry.' This is very damaging to relationship and does not build Kingdom unity! As KIC we Love God & Love People in Freedom, with Wisdom, as we Journey. --- You can watch the full message below: Lawrence Kirby shared a message titled, 'Let God Transform You' Romans 1:16 'For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.' The Elders prayed and sought God for direction for KIC toward the end of 2023 and felt called that we need to be going after transformation, not just transaction. The Good News must always lead to transformed lives because Scripture tells us that the Gospel is the power of God! We can ask ourselves, are we different people than we were 5 years ago, a week ago etc. The power of the Gospel of Jesus draws us into transformation. If we’re not changing, are we truly letting the good news transform us? We have all of God, but we haven’t experienced all of Him yet! "I’m no longer a sinner, I’m a saint" This is transactional... Transformation is when we actually live as a saint. The power of the good news is in transformed lives. Saul had a transformational experience. Through the power of the message of Jesus, he went from being a persecutor of Christians, to becoming Apostle Paul, an advocate for the Kingdom and wrote a huge amount of our Scriptures. Romans 12:1-2 NLT 'And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.' You and I can work really hard at transforming our own lives, but only God can change something that's completely and utterly broken and cause it to be something beautiful. He wants to do this in our lives! Even if we don't see ourselves as broken - we are not the full representation of Jesus YET! There is more available to us in the power of the Gospel. --- You can watch the full message below: |
