Lawrence Kirby shared a message titled, 'Covered in the Journey' Transformation is very intimate to our vision at KIC... When we live in Christ we become more and more like Him. This is a supernatural thing, not a logical thing. Faith itself is a supernatural thing, gifted to us by the Holy Spirit. We live in a space of tension between our identity which is resting in being children of God and also working out our faith. Romans 7:4-6 NLT "So, my dear brothers and sisters, this is the point: You died to the power of the law when you died with Christ. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God. 5 When we were controlled by our old nature sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death. 6 But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit." Romans 8:1-2 NLT "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death." Between these two passages Paul talks about the wrestle of still doing what we don't want to do even when we have the Spirit at work in us. In the process of our wrestling, there is no condemnation for we are in Christ Jesus. This is so relieving and freeing! As long as we remain connected to the source - the life that is in Jesus Christ - God covers the wrestle and transforms us from glory to glory! In the journey of transformation we are covered by the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:9 TPT "But when the Spirit of Christ empowers your life, you are not dominated by the flesh but by the Spirit. And if you are not joined to the Spirit of the Anointed One, you are not of him." How do we know if we are connected to the Spirit or not? We do not lose this connection when we do something wrong or sinful... The wording in Romans 8:9 is an unusual Greek clause that can be translated 'if anyone is not joined to the Spirit of Christ, he cannot be himself.' When we're connected to the Spirit of God, we're able to be who God has created us to be! It's not about programmes or rituals or doing the right things, it's about being connected to Christ by the Spirit, and nothing can separate us from this love! --- You can watch the full message below:
