Wayne Huirua shared a message titled,
'Mature Worshippers'

Free people worship!

When the nation of Israel come out of Egypt and are delivered across the Red Sea, it's like they're asking, "Can this be true?"  When realisation hits that God has set them free from their captors, celebration breaks out.

When you realise you are free, gratitude and worship are a natural response.

At church we remember what he has done and we worship and praise and thank him.

But sometimes our attitude toward the "worship team" is  “What have you got for me today?”
We are conditioned to make sure the environment is right before we will engage, rather than maturely leading ourselves.

The worship in Moses’ tabernacle was about a cow! Music didn’t even come in until David. Now we make worship all about music!

When people worshipped in Moses' day, THEY had to bring the cow, the offering. The Priest just facilitated the worship.
In our day, the music team are like the priests facilitating, but WE must bring the cow.

God didn’t ask for your personality. He asked for your obedience!
He doesn’t ask for our blood sacrifice. He just asks for our gratitude.

Christianity is the only religion where God has done the sacrificing for the people.

All we need to do is say hey thanks for the whole salvation thing!

If you’ve been saved you don’t need a band to lead you into worship. Own your own praise.

Would Jesus like to come to this church?
Or would He be bored, or not seen, neglected?
Can we make Jesus feel welcome in our gathering?

Are you mature enough in your faith to lead yourself in worship?

When everyone contributes it builds each others’ faith.

Ask: Lord, what can I bring you that’s more about you and less about me?

Sometimes our worship becomes feeling bad for ourselves, punishing ourselves, instead of receiving good gifts from Him.

Psalm 47:1
"Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph!"

No matter what happens, in the end we win! We have victory, we’re more than conquerors.

Faith says: no matter what happens, I’ll worship anyway.
Maybe nothing else blesses God's heart more than praise in the midst of trial.

Can you imagine what it does to the heart of God when we set aside our personal preference to worship Him?
