Lawrence Kirby shared a message titled,
'Remain in My Love'

Jesus invites us to build our lives and have security in His love.

We as human beings are searching for love.

God's love is whole, consistent and fully toward us.

Jesus invites us to remain in His love.

John 15:9-17 NIV
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other."

Jesus experienced the love of the Father, and communicated that to his disciples.

To remain or to abide means to make a place your home.

If you choose to remain somewhere, you've got to be committed to that.

Sometimes we encounter hard work or hurtful experiences... but in those times we must remain to what we've committed to, what God has called us to.

In order to remain, we must deal with issues when they come up, not let them fester and grow.

To remain in the love of Jesus requires us to change the way we think. If we struggle with insecurity in love eg; whether I'm accepted and loved by people, then surely this will undermine our ability to remain in God's love as it will lead to guilt, condemnation, and questioning if God really loves us and if He's still near us and for us.

Insecurity can lead us to think, 'does God still love me?'

Jesus invites us to remain in His love, to build our home in Him.

You may choose to respond to one of the following categories...
1. You've never experienced the love of God and want to know connection with Him for the first time
2. You know God loves you, but at times you question it, and want to receive assurance that His love for you is true
3. You've already committed to remaining in love and desire this commitment to be strengthened
